DaeWha Kang will speak about his full regeneration of St Andrew Holborn, a Grade 1 listed church built by Wren and damaged in the war. In addition to a deep dive into architectural design and virtuoso craftsmanship, DaeWha will reflect on broader considerations of the design profession. In particular, he will speak about the pressing need for the world’s most ambitious architects to work within heritage contexts, and the important role that spiritual and civic spaces will play in a rapidly changing world.
DaeWha founded the studio with the belief that design can lift the spirit, challenge the intellect, and strengthen body and mind. He has spent the last twenty-five years studying, designing, and building architecture around the world. He is a dreamer and a long-term thinker, but is also deeply committed to the craft of architecture and loves making those dreams into reality. DaeWha has extensive experience delivering complex projects, whether in the most challenging historical context or dealing with large-scale budgets and multiple stakeholders. He is a thought leader in the industry, giving talks at conferences around the world.
