As a title, The English Organ is unassuming. However, as we’ll discover, well-tailored restraint is one of the hallmarks of the English organ and its music. But there is nothing restrained about this set of films and recordings that sets out both to show and celebrate the arc and development of the English organ and to relate it to the broader narrative of English history. CCTdigital.com is delighted to bring The English Organ series, produced by Fugue State Films, to an online audience for the very first time.
This groundbreaking documentary was filmed over the course of more than a year, visiting forty locations in three continents, to create a set of three feature length documentaries. The locations housing the organs include some of the most beautiful and famous buildings in the world.
We hope you enjoy this phenomenal series.
